at the Amstelveld

"Not everyone
in the Netherlands subscribes
to the notion that neatness counts.
This ramshackle green houseboat
is still moored in the same
prestigious location, and has
decayed through neglect,
and the the owner's clear lack
or or misapplication of
handyman talents.

And yes, I'd screen off
the stern of my houseboat
if that slapdash green
floating thing was
my neighbor."
