"I grew up out in the country,
but we moved to the city when
I was twelve. Twenty-five years
after the move, I went back to
our old rural neighborhood to
attend my father's second
wedding and stopped by the
farm where we had lived to have
a look around. We knew the
people we had sold the land to
were still there, but I didn't
expect to find a currycomb
right where we'd left it on a
windowsill in the barn
a quarter century before."
